Joel Katz is an independent film and video maker whose works include Corporation with a Movie Camera (1992), Dear Carry (1997), Strange Fruit (2002), and the work-in-progress White: A Study in Color. His projects have been funded by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Independent Television Service, the Jerome Foundation, the Paul Robeson Fund for Independent Media, the Puffin Foundation, the New York State Council on the Arts, and other agencies. Katz is an Associate Professor in the Media Arts Department of New Jersey City University, and serves on the Board of Directors of Third World Newsreel.
